After debating what to do with our Thursday, we ended up sticking with our original idea of taking a day trip to Croatia. We were not disappointed with our decision. On the advice of Katka, we chose Rovinj as our day trip destination. It was close (about 2 hours by car), beautiful and would give us a good idea of Croatian life at the beach. With our downloaded maps of Slovenia and Croatia on our phones and some advice from David we hit the road with goals of being in Rovinj by lunch. We achieved our goal and not a minute too soon as both girls were hitting the hungry wall of meltdown. Unfortunately, we chose one of the worst restaurants of our trip for lunch and we all left still a little bit hungry. The good news is that that lunch marked the low point of the day and we had a fantastic time exploring Rovinj both by foot and boat. The sights were spectacular, the weather was perfect and everyone got a little of their favorite things.
Reese got a couple gelato stops.
Kendall got a nap on our boat ride.
We got some quick reading and do nothing time at the café by the water.
We closed the day out enjoying the setting sun, a few shops and a top notch dinner. All in all it was a great day.
You don't have to love reading to want to read in this setting all day long.
Sometimes it is about the view and not the people. Even if the one on the right is uber adorable!
