Ljubljana Tour

Wednesday was our last opportunity to spend some time in Ljubljana seeing the old part of town. David gave us a driving tour of where we wanted to be as we looked for a parking spot and after finally finding a spot, we were able to go into the heart of the city where it was walking only. It was a really cool mix of buildings, sidewalk cafes, street vendors and locals hanging out. While tourists were out, they did not dominate the landscape and you could see the local culture all around you.
We had a great lunch with David and Katka and her parents and then we picked up Liam, Ella, and Teylor from school. The kids all enjoyed their last chance to play together with sidewalk chalk, a trip to a playground and running around at home. It has been a great stay in Ljubljana. We have had good conversations, fun play and awesome relationship building time--especially for the kids.
The girls had a very fun day playing and pretending with each other. It seemed as if they had had some silly juice that morning-very fun to see them enjoying each other so much!
Not surprisingly, the center of the city was built right around a river.
This is a cool brass display of old town Ljubljana. You can see the castle on the top of the hill above the river on the left. You can also see two cute American girls at the top!

It is a beautiful city.
