Munich here we come

The driving force behind our trip had finally arrived. For the first time on the trip we woke to alarm clocks as we had a scheduled departure of 8:45 from Ljubljana on a GoOpti (think Uber but for long distance travel), but we hadn't packed a thing. The 5 hour trip was not necessarily quick, but it did treat us to some amazing sights. Along with God's amazing natural beauty of Northern Slovenia, Austria and Germany, we also got to see incredible engineering feats from centuries past to modern day.
While we didn't get to stop and pull over for pictures, we drove past two amazing castles. Both castles seemed to just extend straight up out of the tops of the mountains. These extremely old marvels were impressive not only in stature but also in how they were planned and built.
The road we traveled on provided the modern marvel of the trip. At one point we traveled 30km along the mountain side without ever being on the ground. Built against the side of the mountain, the highway was essentially on stilts as it hugged the mountain! And what trip through the alps would be complete without going through a few crazy long tunnels? One of the tunnels we went through was the longest in Europe for many years and was almost 8km!
The road trip did eventually end and we arrived in Munich anxious for the hotel and the CityWave--neither disappointed. We got to watch some of the competitors practice for the competition that starts  tomorrow and the girls also got a chance to test the hotel pool. It will be too cold for anyone to give the CityWave a chance, so the indoor hotel pool will have to suffice for the girls. Both girls are asking great questions about when the CityWave comes to Slidewaters! Kendall wants to know if we will require riders to be 4 feet tall and I told her hopefully by then she will be 4 feet tall!
